Nike likes to release the same colorway on multiple models. Many times the AM95 version gets slept on. This is the case with these Nike Air Max 95 Essential Noise Aqua, a shoe that I’ve seen zero fanfare about.
The shoe gets it’s name from the colorway although some refer to it as the “reverse Stash” based on the resemblance to an earlier colorway.
Since the shoe is mostly black and offwhite with a blue gradient, many types of outfits can work with these. If you want the shoes to pop, go with a light wash denim or khakis and a light top. This will helpshow off the dark gradient. In the colder months, you can toss on some black pants and a grey or navy top for a more low key look.
I can’t lie, I knew the quality wasn’t going to be that good on these, but I wanted some 95s and this was the first colorway that stood out. There are a number of great new AM95s out on the market right now which made these a tough choice, but in hand the colorway makes these worth it!
How Are The Materials?
Just like other Air Max essentials, the materials are passable but not laudable. You have a very standard leather and mesh makeup. Overall the shoe seems solidly built although I did spot some QC issues around the midsole on my pair. Basically, if you like the colorway, get these, but don’t expect to be in love with the materials. I’m ok with them personally even if I’m not blown away.
How Do They Fit?
These Nike Air Max 95 Essential Noise Aqua fit true to size and are fairly comfortable, if not a tad cramped right out of the box. Later, I wound up using a shoe widener to get them to stretch a bit and now they fit like a glove! I don’t worry about shape as much with 95s as even the classic pairs don’t necessarily have a crazy slope to them. These actually look ok with a slightly bulky toe given the overall shoe design.
